This invitation for prequalification follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Official Journal of EConline on March 12, 2008.
The Republic of Turkey has applied for an additional loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) toward the cost of theIstanbul Seismic Risk Mitigation and Emergency Preparedness Project (ISMEP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Loanto payments under the contract for Reconstruction Works of Göztepe Training and Research Hospital (EIB-WB1-YAPIM-05). IstanbulProject Coordination Unit (IPCU) intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for the Reconstruction Works of Göztepe Training andResearch Hospital.
The project consists of approximately 250.000 m2 built-up area (3B+G+9 Floor+Roof) including approximately 40.000 m2underground parking area and all related civil, mechanical, electrical, landscape and infrastructural works as well as demolishing of the oldbuildings.
The hospital building will be a seismic base isolated building with multi-storied comprising in-situ reinforced concrete constructionand equipped with sophisticated electrical and mechanical services, including lifts, heating, ventilation/air-conditioning, sanitary andmedical support systems.
It is expected that invitations for bid will be made in December 2012.
Prequalification will be conducted through the prequalification procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurementunder IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004 and revised in October 2006 and May 2010, and is open to all bidders from eligible sourcecountries, as defined in the guidelines.
Interested eligible applicants may obtain further information from and inspect the prequalification document at the Istanbul ProjectCoordination Unit (IPCU) (address below) from 09:00 to 17:00 (Turkey time) which are office hours. A complete set of theprequalification document in English may be purchased by interested applicants on the submission of a written application to the addressbelow and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of 500 TL or 230 Euro. The method of payment will be deposited in the account no. forTL; IBAN-NO: TR31 0001 5001 5800 7286 1036 53 and for Euro; IBAN-NO: TR91 0001 5001 5804 8000 3946 63 of İstanbul ProjectCoordination Unit (IPCU) at İstanbul Vakıfbank, Mercan Branch by writing the reference number (EIB-WB1-YAPIM-05) of the contractpackage for which the application will be submitted.
The document will be sent by surface mail, courier or hand delivery. Applications by e-mail shall not be accepted.
Applications for prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the address below by October 19, 2012 at14:00 (local time) and be clearly marked “Application to Prequalify for Reconstruction Works of Göztepe Training and Research Hospital, EIB-WB1-YAPIM-05”
